HDN

The Home Delivery Network

Putting the customer last

Formerly known as Blue Arrow, the Home Delivery Service gave itself a makeover when it's appalling reputation made it unfeasible to continue. With the leasing of new vans and the issuing of green sweatshirts to it's drivers HDN hoped to put the past behind them. Unfortunately the same knuckle-dragging morons are at the customer end of the operation collecting and distributing the parcels - and since the company affiliated itself with Littlewoods and began to compete in the marketplace the drivers are not happy with the extra work load. Their answer is to sabotage deliveries and make sure nobody uses them twice. Lower management would seem to be complicit in this by ignoring complaints and claims and turning a blind eye to the distress caused to an unsuspecting public.

I run a small mail order business and have used a reputable courier firm for some years but was tempted by HDN's low prices to make what turned out to be a false economy . From my first consignment of parcels half where not delivered and the rest where delivered to the wrong addresses. I have independent evidence that labels were removed or changed and that this was a malicious act by the collection driver after he was reprimanded for behaving in an offensive and misogynistic manner to a member of my staff.

There is no redress with HDN, no way to claim and emails are ignored, there is no business address or contact number openly available.

HDN will continue as long as you let them (only to reappear with different sweatshirts no doubt) so stick with a reputable established firm.

Some other peoples experiences:

Home Delivery Network are just about the worst transport (sic) you can ever get involved with. Before you even think about using them my advice is to seek treatment from your doctor. You cannot contact them. Their tracking information is useless. I had a tracking number. It showed the parcel sitting in a depot for 4 days. No problem I though I would ring up the depot and sort it out. No telephone number listed. Back to the number quoted on my dispatch note.
Now wait for this.YOU CAN'T ASK THEM DIRECT. THE ONLT WAY THEY CAN FIND THE PARCEL IS FROM THE NUMBER THE DRIVER WROTE ON THE CARD WHEN HE COULD NOT MAKE THE DELIVERY. HOLD ON THE DRIVER HASN'T BEEN!! I CANT HELP YOU WITHOUT THAT NUMBER.This has got to be the most stupid way to run any business!!!
You can't contact anyone in HOME DELIVERY NETWORK. However being in computers for most of my fife it was not a great leap of thought to find the name of the Managing director and then check his expected e-mail address worked. See the BT site for checking mail address, and sure enough this bloke had a mail address.
Off went my mail...result!
No reply from him but the Head of Customer Service sent me a mail back promising delivery this morning.
And in the words of the song "I'm still waiting"
Why don't you mail them and tell them what you think of Home Delivery Network... Best we can hope is it screws up his mail system for Christmas like he has screwed up mine.
Managing Director walter.blackwood@hdnl. you put in the rest

I agree Home Delivery Network are a joke, before christmas a parcel was sent to me from Holland not once but 3 times and on every occasion it was sent back with no reason. Their customer service isn't any better and if you want to find their number you will be searching for a long time as it isn't featured on their web site believe me I searched. DONT USE THEM
